Updates and Praises

• November is always packed with final school assignments and projects as the school year comes to an end next month, and the children have been working so hard, making us very proud.

• With the year drawing to a close, we've been decorating for Christmas and attending our seniors' graduations. For Christmas decorations, we made our annual Christmas paper chains, put up and decorated a tree, started making big paper gingerbread homes, and a long handmade mock chimney and stocking for each child that we put a candy in at the start of each week. The senior graduations have been special. We are so incredibly proud of them as all of them are the first in their families to graduate high school. However, five of the seven do not have a father figure in the picture and have asked Jeff to step in for the special dances, which is bittersweet. One of the students was picked to give the speech for her class and she thanked MANÁ, Jeff and Chloe, and God for helping her succeed, and for teaching her that sometimes family isn't just by blood but chosen. Many proud tears were shed at these events.

• We took five winning star students to the mall's movie theater for doing their homework daily at MANÁ and for improving their grades.

• Last month, our events were more so for the teens of MANÁ. This month, it was the younger children's turn. We had a field day for them at Incalink's campsite, with games, donuts and homemade ice cream! We are also thankful for the linkers' help.

• This month we also had our quarterly birthday party. We celebrated 19 children's birthdays with cakes and a movie party!

• Jeff and Chloe made home visits, interviewed parents, updated the socioeconomic records, and prayed with each family. It is also a sweet time of connecting with the parents, an opportunity to hear from them, and to reach them through prayer.

• Seven teens gave their lives to Christ this month during one of our weekly devotional times!

• We have enjoyed the help of this year's Link Year group and had the privilege of having former linker Abi and her sister return to Trujillo for a week to serve again with the ministry and reconnect.

How can you pray for us?

• Pray that the children finish their studies strong and that all of them advance to the next grade.

• Pray that our small, but mighty team finishes serving with strength and then enjoys much-needed vacation time.

• Pray that the children have quality family time during the holidays and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

Actualizaciones y Alabanzas a Dios:

• Noviembre siempre está lleno de tareas y proyectos escolares finales, ya que el año escolar termina el próximo mes, y los niños han trabajado muy duro, haciéndonos sentir muy orgullosos.

• Con el año acercándose, hemos estado decorando para Navidad y asistiendo a las promociones de quinto grado. Para la decoración navideña, hicimos nuestras cadenas navideñas de papel que hacemos cada año, armamos y decoramos un árbol, empezamos a hacer grandes casas de jengibre de papel y una chimenea artificial larga y artesanal, con un calcetín navideño para cada niño, en el que ponemos un dulce al principio de cada semana. Las promociones han sido especiales. Estamos increíblemente orgullosos de ellos, ya que todos son los primeros en sus familias en graduarse de la segundaria. Sin embargo, cinco de los siete no tienen una figura paterna en la familia y le han pedido a Jeff que los represente en los bailes especiales, lo cual es agridulce. Una de las estudiantes fue elegida para dar el discurso de su clase y agradeció a MANÁ, a Jeff y Chloe, y a Dios por ayudarla a lograr el éxito y por enseñarle que a veces la familia no es solo de sangre, sino elegida. Se derramaron muchas lágrimas de orgullo en estos eventos.

• Llevamos a cinco estudiantes ganadores de premios al cine del centro comercial por hacer sus tareas diariamente en MANÁ y por mejorar sus calificaciones.

• El mes pasado, nuestros eventos fueron especialmente para los adolescentes de MANÁ. Este mes, fue el turno de los más pequeños. ¡Les organizamos un día de campo en el campamento de Incalink, con juegos, donas y helado casero! También agradecemos la ayuda de los linkers.

• Este mes, también celebramos nuestra fiesta de cumpleaños trimestral. ¡Celebramos 19 cumpleañeros con pasteles y una fiesta de película!

• ¡Tuvimos nuestra pijamada anual con los adolescentes en MANÁ! Fue una noche muy divertida de conexión y compañerismo.

• Jeff y Chloe visitaron hogares de las familias de MANÁ, entrevistaron a los padres, actualizaron los registros socioeconómicos y oraron con cada familia. También es un momento entrañable para conectar con los padres, escucharlos y una oportunidad de alcanzarlos a través de la oración.

• Siete adolescentes entregaron sus vidas a Cristo este mes durante uno de nuestros devocionales semanales.

• Hemos disfrutado de la ayuda del grupo Link Year de este año y tuvimos el privilegio de que Abi, linker pasada, y su hermana regresaran a Trujillo por una semana para servir nuevamente en el ministerio y reconectarse.
