Updates and Praises

• The first week of the month, we had our former intern, friend, and sponsor, Hannah, and her husband, Wes, visit MANA. It was such a sweet time of reconnecting and joy!

• This month, MANÁ took our teenagers out for intentional bonding time together! We took all the teen girls went into town to go to a coffee shop for the first time where we talked, ate, and played games! And the boys played a soccer tournament and then chatted over pizza! Through our prayer and mental health care journal time this past month, we noticed that many of them were struggling with isolation and loneliness. Creating memories together is so important for their mental health, social skills and friendships, and to have positive core memories in a heavy world were many of them have more challenges than the average adult has had in their lifetime in their youth. A time where they can just have fun, be teens and laugh together

• MANÁ took the seven winners of the top student award (1st and 2nd semesters) to the movies! These students won thanks to their academic progress and their effort in completing their homework daily at MANÁ during our educational program. It was also, for most of them, their first time not only at the movies, but also at the mall!

• This month in our Prayer and Care Journals, we reviewed how to process life's difficulties and surrender our burdens to Jesus. We also discussed the inconsistency of humanity and the consistency of God, and how this should affect our faith. We talked about what fulfills and drains us and how our actions affect how we feel. We also showed examples of how to annotate and understand Bible passages.

• We've continued to see results in our sewing and knitting workshops. The children really enjoy what they do, and many have been able to start producing their own ideas and products, and many even making their own earnings.

• Last year, MANA completed the remodeling of the dining room and the entire second floor. This year's goal is to finish the first-floor classrooms and have everything up to date inspection-wise to obtain our operating license. We are pleased to announce that we have officially finished painting all the classrooms and have completely renovated the electrical system, plumbing, building plans, and installed cameras and emergency lighting. We finished decorating our library and teen's living room. Next is the bakery/cooking classrom, office and prayer room.

• We have several teenagers who are attending church regularly this year, and this month one enrolled in a Bible academy class and another was baptized!

How can you pray for us?

• Pray for the growth of our team at MANA. We are still extremely short staffed. We really need a homework assistant in the mornings and, especially, a little kids teacher in the afternoons.

• In MANA, we have eight students graduating in December. We ask for your prayers for their exams and for finding scholarship options for our students who desire post-secondary education. Actualizaciones y Alabanzas a Dios:

• La primera semana del mes, nuestra expasante, amiga y patrocinadora, Hannah, y su esposo, Wes, visitaron MANA. ¡Fue un momento muy dulce de reencuentro y alegría!

• Este mes, MANÁ llevó a nuestros adolescentes a un momento para fortalecer sus vínculos. ¡Llevamos a todas las chicas adolescentes a una cafetería en la ciudad por primera vez, donde conversamos, comimos y jugamos! ¡Y los chicos jugaron un torneo de fútbol y luego charlaron mientras comieron pizza! Durante nuestro tiempo de oración y cuidado de la salud mental del mes pasado, notamos que muchos de ellos luchaban contra el aislamiento y la soledad. Crear recuerdos juntos es fundamental para su salud mental, habilidades sociales, amistades, y para tener recuerdos positivos en un mundo difícil donde muchos de ellos enfrentan más desafíos que el adulto promedio en su adolescencia. Un momento donde pueden simplemente divertirse, ser adolescentes y reír juntos.

  - ¡MANÁ llevó al cine a los siete ganadores del premio al mejor estudiante (1 y 2 bimestre)! Estos estudiantes ganaron gracias a su progreso académico y a su esfuerzo por completar sus tareas a diario en MANÁ durante nuestro programa educativo. ¡También fue, para la mayoría, su primera vez no solo en el cine, sino también en el centro comercial!

• Este mes, en nuestros Cuadernos de Oración y Cuidado, repasamos cómo afrontar las dificultades de la vida y entregar nuestras cargas a Jesús. También hablamos sobre la inconsistencia de la humanidad y la consistencia de Dios, y cómo esto debería afectar nuestra fe. Hablamos sobre lo que nos llena y lo que nos agota, y cómo nuestras acciones afectan nuestros sentimientos. También mostramos ejemplos de cómo puede anotar y comprender pasajes bíblicos.

• Hemos seguido viendo resultados en nuestros talleres de costura y tejido. Los niños disfrutan mucho de lo que hacen y muchos han podido empezar a producir sus propias ideas y productos, e incluso a generar ingresos propios.

• El año pasado, MANÁ completó la remodelación del comedor y todo el segundo piso. La meta de este año es terminar las aulas del primer piso y tener todo al día para la inspección y obtener la licencia de operación. Nos complace anunciar que hemos terminado oficialmente de pintar todas las aulas y hemos renovado completamente el sistema eléctrico, la plomería, los planos de edificio e instalado cámaras e iluminación de emergencia. Terminamos de decorar nuestra biblioteca/la sala de estar de los adolescentes. Ahora nos queda el aula de repostería/cocina, la oficina y la sala de oración.

• ¡Tenemos varios adolescentes que asisten a la iglesia regularmente este año, y este mes uno se inscribió en una clase de academia bíblica y otro se bautizó!

¿Cómo puedes orar por nosotros?

• Oremos por el crecimiento de nuestro equipo en MANÁ. Aún tenemos muy poco personal. Necesitamos un asistente de tareas por las mañanas y, especialmente, un profesor de niños pequeños por las tardes.
